Founded by Mr. Alan King in 1947, the company made its debut in Montreal in the management of vending machines and was operated under the name of Vendking International.

When Mr. Alan King created the first ever single-serve coffee machine in 1965, he had no idea that he was on the cusp of brewing a revolution. His creative – and at the time – very progressive foresight paved the way for not only what VKI Technologies is today, but for the category at large. Globally. Today, over 70 years later, Mr. King’s beacon of entrepreneurship, innovation and customer-centric quality, is still at the forefront of what’s next in commercial coffee and specialty beverages technology.

Our Story

The beginnings

Established in 1947 by Mr. Alan King, VKI Technologies was launched in Montreal in the vending machine management business and operated under the name Vendking International. Realizing that his interests and talents were oriented towards new technologies, Mr. King abandoned vending machine management to focus on developing his own equipment.

In the course of time

In 1965, VKI Technologies designed the Vendking brewer, the first single cup coffee brewer that would eventually become one of the world's finest. Today, an improved model of this device continues to ensure the freshness and aroma of millions of beverages brewed to meet all consumer needs, at any time and in any place, on the move, at work or at play.

Today

Attentive to the evolving tastes of the marketplace as well as the needs of its business partners, VKI Technologies increased its line of products and services, solidifying its position as a leader in the industry. Under the leadership of Keurig Dr Pepper since 2018, the development of integrated and innovative products and services has enabled VKI Technologies to ensure its distinct competitive edge on the national and international markets.
